All About Getting Rid Of The Acne Scar
The one thing about acne is if it is not treated correctly, it can leave awful scars. The acne scar can be quite hard to get rid of.
1. With acne scars, it all depends on the individual how they react to the damage to the skin. Some will heal quicker then others.
2. Acne scars can either be depressed or raised, but these can disappear within a year. Loss of collagen is one cause of scarring.
3. Usually with acne scars the sufferer will need some sort of medical treatment. A popular one is the laser. Laser treatment has proven successful in getting rid of acne scarring.
4. When acne starts to heal, it leaves a pigmented spot which slowly fades away. This may take up to one year to disappear. If it hasn’t gone within a year, you will most likely get a scar.
5. There are different types of acne scars. The depressed ones are called, Keloids, which are a mass of tissue that grows on the edges of the injury.
6. However, most people will get the depressed scar, which happens because of loss of tissue.
Some collagen can be lost in the process of the skin being attacked by white blood cells.
7. The three types of scars are, the ice pick, boxcar, and rolling scars.
Ice pick scars-
Ice pick scars are commonly deep scars. They may also be superficial. They look sharp as if the skin has been cut with an ice pick. These scars are difficult to treat with laser or dermabrasion as they go deeper inside.
Boxcar scars-
These scars do not have sharp edges unlike ice pick scars. Boxcar scars are oval or round and commonly they are not very deep.
Rolling scars-
When the scarred skin looks rolled, the scars are known as rolling scars.
8. Laser treatment is used to resurface facial problems. There is also chemical peeling which has proven to help some sufferers.
There are new lasers being developed all the time, some of the common ones are;
Blue light laser.
Laser resurfacing.
9. Some people want to know how long will it take to get rid of the marks. The answer is, it all depends on the severity of the acne, if it was severe, then the marks will take longer to fade away.
The other thing is that the body has a natural resistance and this will vary from person to person.
10. The good news is that you can fix these marks at home with a natural cure. Here’s what you do. Mix a pack by mixing five teaspoons of baking soda and nine teaspoons of water. Apply it on the affected area and leave it for sometime to dry. And then wash it off. In order to get better results, after applying the paste, you can also massage the spots with soft hands and then wash the area.
